When floods washed away essential infrastructure in remote mountain villages, Sowers Action Nepal provided emergency portable solar lights so families could keep homes, schools and clinics lit.Thame, Solukhumbu – 150 lights after the flood.Limi, Humla – 23 lights after the flood.Beding, Gaurishankar-9, Dolakha – 40 lights for a village affected by a glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF).

As part of our education-focused community development work, Sowers Action Nepal installed 9 solar lighting units across two schools in Benighat Rorang-09, Dhading. The main beneficiaries are students from the Chepang community, a historically marginalised group with limited access to reliable electricity. The installation improved classroom lighting, made the schools safer and created better learning conditions, especially during low-light hours – contributing to a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.
