In coordination with SOSEC Nepal and with implementation support from CDC Nepal, Sowers Action supported the distribution of portable solar lights to 45 Raute families in Gurbakot Municipality–14, Surkhet. The initiative aimed to provide a practical and sustainable lighting solution for the Raute community, Nepal’s last remaining nomadic indigenous tribe, whose population has declined to only 161 individuals. As the Raute migrate from one place to another and do not reside permanently in a single location, portable solar lights are well suited to their traditional lifestyle, improving safety, mobility, and access to lighting in their daily lives.
