Solar Distribution Program 2026 | Rolwaling Sangye Chöling Monastery School

21 Jun 2026

Sowers Action Nepal is delighted to announce the successful installation of solar lighting at Rolwaling Sangye Chöling Monastery School in Beding, Dolakha.

Located at an altitude of 3,709 meters above sea level, Beding is a remote Himalayan settlement that has faced prolonged power shortages after floods and landslides damaged the national electricity transmission line. As a result, the monastery school and the surrounding community were left without reliable access to electricity.

To address this challenge, Sowers Action Nepal implemented a solar lighting project to provide a sustainable and dependable source of energy for the school. The newly installed solar lights will support students and teachers by creating a brighter, safer, and more conducive environment for learning and daily activities.

This achievement was made possible despite the region’s rugged terrain, unpredictable weather, and the demanding journey required to transport materials and reach the site. The dedication of our volunteers and the support of local community members were instrumental in making the project a success.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed their time, effort, and support to this initiative. Together, we are helping ensure that children in remote communities have access to brighter opportunities and a better future.

Sowers Action Nepal remains committed to serving vulnerable and underserved communities through practical, sustainable solutions that improve education and quality of life.
